STRUCTURE

Neighborhood Watch (NW) Coordinator
|
Performs the following functions:
| Acts as liaison between NW members, law enforcement officers, civic groups, and block captains. |
| Arranges neighborhood crime prevention training programs |
| Obtains and distributes crime prevention materials (such as signs and stickers) |
| Maintains current list of participants |
| Works to expand the program |

Block Captains
(one block captain for every 10-15 houses)
|
Performs the following functions:
| Acts as liaison between residents and NW coordinator. |
| Establishes a list of names, addresses, and telephone numbers of block participants |
| Visits and invites new residents to join NW. Also notifies them of meetings and training sessions. |
| Encourages block participants to report suspicious activities and "to look out for one another" |
|

Citizens
|
The key to NW's success is the participation of the individual citizens to recognize and report suspicious activities and persons.
